Hello everyone! In this week’s blog post I’ll be sharing a couple of tips to help organize all of your online classes. Read on to learn more!
Obviously with the pandemic, a majority of us are taking classes online. Unfortunately, this is the case with thousands of high schoolers worldwide. We’ve all been attending classes from the “comfort” of our home, and our home has turned into our classroom!
With online school comes school-related stress. It’s inevitable, especially since you’re cooped up inside your home, and it’s all up to you to get your assignments done. And another source of stress comes from the build-up of assignments, and their pending due dates. It’s so hard to keep up to date with all of your assignments, and this can sometimes result in lower grades.
In this post, I’ll be sharing a couple of tips to help keep you more organized during these online times. It’ll be some tips for you to use, to help stay updated with all of your tasks and assignments.
Plan out your week
This is a tip that I have mentioned in many of my previous blog posts, mostly because it is really effective! My whole life has changed, ever since I’ve started planning out my weeks. All I do is open a blank document, and write down all of my assignments due for the week. I then write down each day, and split all my assignments throughout the 7 days of the week.
I mostly place assignments by looking at due date: for example, if I have an English paper due on Friday, I’ll write down that assignment under Wednesday and Thursday, so I know that I have to work on it then. In a matter of minutes, I have planned out my entire week, and organized all of my assignments for the week.
By planning out my week, I have effectively taken note of all the assignments I have to do, and have also organized them by assigning specific days. You should definitely try out this tip, since it’s an extremely helpful way to know what you have to do every day.
Take notes
This is another helpful tip that’ll help when it comes to taking exams. Make sure you take notes for all of your classes. Many teachers provide PowerPoints and documents that have all the information you need to study. In this case, I recommend that you annotate those resources, and go through them as your teacher teaches in class.
A lot of the times, teachers mention concepts and ideas that they haven’t included in your notes. It’s important to take note of these since it’ll likely come up in exams. If your teacher doesn’t provide resources like those, it’s still very important to take notes. Some people may find that physically writing down notes is time-consuming. If this is the case with you, try taking digital notes! Typing notes on a document is still an effective way of taking notes!
If you prefer hand-written notes, then you should continue to take notes in class in that manner. Try finding a style of notes that you prefer and find easy to take, since taking notes is an important and efficient way to organize your classes and content.
Write them all down
If you find that you have an unpredictable and changing week, then planning out your week might not help that much. If that’s the case, then I recommend you “write everything down.” All this means, is to write down all of your assignments for the week, and their due dates. Rearrange them in order of closest due date to farthest due date.
This way, you’re at least aware of all the assignments you have to do in the next week. It’s an alternative to assigning specific days for assignments, but you’ll still have to stay on top of all your assignments and make sure you’re doing everything on time.
Have an organized space
Another important tip that you could use to organize your schoolwork is to have an organized space. A proper space to do your work is essential, especially for online classes. Keeping an organized space can be hard, but it’s important to note the benefits. An organized space can keep you refreshed and motivated to do schoolwork. Personally, I feel relieved to do schoolwork whenever I see a clean, tidy, and organized space for me to do my work.
Honestly, this tip is mostly to retain a peaceful state of mind. You need to feel relaxed when you’re doing schoolwork. Being relaxed will ensure that you’ll study more efficiently, and as a result, your grades will go up. An organized study space is the first step you can take to organize your schoolwork more efficiently.
Use organizational apps
Most of us probably have smartphones. And we’ve probably downloaded many apps, from social media platforms to even games. Another very important app that you can download are organization apps. They come in the form of weekly planners, to-do lists, homework apps, etc. Any version of an organization app will be useful since you can basically use that to organize your work. If it’s a weekly planner, then you can literally plan out your week. If it’s a to-do list app, then you can plan everything you’ll be doing in the next couple of hours. If it’s a homework app, you can input all of your homework assignments into that one app, and refer to it whenever you’re doing schoolwork.
I hope you all found these tips useful! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
Until next time, bye!
